Alpha Implementers & Advisory Board

Present: Grace Agnew, Isaiah Beard, Anne Ciliberti, Jane Hutchison, Linda Langschied, Sandie Miller, Sheri Prupis.

Sheri and Sandie were supposed to prepare an I2 presentation proposal, but were unable to do so due to Sandie's illness. However, Isaiah will prepare one from the infrastructure viewpoint and Sandie and Sheri will prepare one from the educational viewpoint. These can be handed in next week. The I2 conference is 4/21, 4/22 and 4/23.

Linda Langschied shared the workgroups created for NJDH. After much discussion, we pulled out those that we felt would be relevant for NJVid and added a few more. The Alpha Implementers will be called upon to chair the workgroups. They are as follows:

1. Digital video Production
2. Authentication and Authorization (here we are looking for a compelling question to present the Advisory Board with since we'll have people at that level to address the issue)
3. Web Committee
4. Copyright Knowledge
5. NJVid Commons Standards and Policies
6. Outreach and Marketing
7. Sustainability Workgroup
8. NJVid Project Team (this is what we used to refer to as the Steering Committee and is already composed of NJVid Committee. Linda Langschied and Robert Harris will be added.
9. Commercially Licensed Video Collections
10. Locally Owned Content Collections
11. Lectures-on-Demand Collections

A Save-the Date email needs to go out asap to the Alpha Implementers to advise them of 3/7/08 meeting at SCC 406 at Rutgers. Designates are invited to attend as well. A follow-up email to remind them will contain the agenda complete with working groups and working group charges. Anne, Jane and Sandie will meet to draw up quick descriptions of these charges. Once completed, the draft will be sent to this sub-committee to review and then shared with the NJVid Project Team in the Feb. 8th meeting via conference call at 9;30am.
